Paul Whitcomb was a Catholic author of two spiritual booklets: Confession of a Roman Catholic and The Catholic Church has the Answer. Both of these were initially published around and , respectively, by the Loyola Book Company, California. Just finished reading “Confessions of a Megachurch Pastor”. Allen Hunt takes you through a great journey of the soul in this easy read. This book should be read by every life-long Catholic as reminder of what the Catholic Church is about. I have a refreshed outlook about going to a Catholic Church.

During the Reformation the Church of England resisted attempts to have all references to private confession and absolution removed from the prayer book. In the 19th century, the Oxford Movement encouraged a revival of private confession, and it was accepted by some Anglo-Catholics. Many Anglicans, however, favour the general confession and absolution of the Communion service. The Confessions of St. Augustine from Catholic Book Publishing is - after the Bible and the Imitation of Christ - the most widely translated and highly esteemed book in Christian history. Translated by Rev. J.M. Lehen, Ph.D., this Confessions of St. Augustine is published in a prayer book format, offering a more participatory reading and prayer experience based on St. Augustine's confessions.

Many will use these verses against the idea of confession to a priest. God forgiving sins, they will claim, precludes the possibility of there being a priest who forgives sins. Further, Hebrews and tell us Jesus is, “the high priest of our confession” and that there are not “many priests,” but one in the New Testament. Any Catholic reading this book will notice that the stories were changed to make Jenny McCarthy seem funny and insightful while making those in the Church look dumb. No one in the clergy would ever respond with the theological inaccuracies stated in her book. A Book of Confessions about Confession by Jenny McCarthy and I have to say that I /5().
